Too much work, so little art.

So, my summer has been absolutely crammed full of non-artsy stuff. Turns out, the first summer I get my resume out on the market, I end up with two jobs...which is probably more than I can handle, but I'm telling myself I can. So basically I've been working 10-something hours a day, and with barely enough time to eat meals, I haven't gotten a chance to charge up my camera batteries and take pictures.
However, there IS a silver lining!! I always have Friday afternoons off, and the weather this last Friday was positively BEAUTIFUL. So I got out my camera, emptied off my memory card, and started photographing. After about 10 minutes of wandering around the yard getting pictures of all our flower gardens, I started back experimenting with black and white and sepia - my favorites. Even the times when I have been photographing lately, I haven't thought to use either of those color settings, so it was great to get back into that.
Overall, I'm pretty pleased with the pictures I was able to get...they'll be up here asap. Till then, wish me luck on not dying between my two jobs :P

Pretty much only my best friends know me for who I really am...otherwise I'm really shy and hardly talk at all.

Mostly though, I like being by myself...I like just being alone and being able to think. I guess I'm more of an independent person...plus, I create better art when I'm alone.

My life is pretty much ruled by the arts:
*Music is how I keep myself sane
(I play French Horn and just in general music is my life...I go crazy if I can't listen to some kind of music.
And no matter what, I always have a song stuck in my head.)

*Dance is how I express myself
(I've danced ballet for about 9 years, and I hate during the summer when I don't have class for months...)

*Art is how I "tap into" my creativity
(Pretty much self-explanatory...)

*Writing is how I get rid of my feelings
(I love to write; right now I'm working on writing a novel just for fun. But I find that my own emotions and expressions leak into my characters', and when I'm in a particularly poetic mood, it shows through in my writing, as well as sarcasm, anger, and joy.)

*Friends are how I haven't killed myself yet
(They're my support group for when I go insane, and they're the ones that keep me grounded.)

*Animals are how I relax
(Especially horseback riding; although I haven't had a chance to ride in a long time, the feeling of being in the saddle is overwhelmingly calming. And just petting my rabbit can bring me out of pretty much any bad mood. She's the sweetest thing ever and I love her for it.)
